The Final Week Countdown

One week from today we’ll be at camp preparing for our campers to arrive. So tonight, here are a few things to keep in mind for next Sunday:

• Please plan to arrive at Beulah Beach by 3:00 p.m. next Sunday. If you can’t make it by 3:00 p.m., please notify Virginia Meisner.
• Remember what to pack for camp.

a.     Your Bible

b.     A Watch (your cell phone doesn’t count)

c.      Cool Clothes (more on that in the next point)

d.     Warmish Clothes including jeans and a sweatshirt

e.     Tennis Shoes (More than one pair if you have them)

f.      Sun screen

g.     Bedding (I can’t tell you how many guys have forgotten a sleeping bag or sheets!)

•    While you’re packing, go ahead and leave out things that aren’t appropriate for camp including certain items from your wardrobe. I’ll be leaving my business suits and ties at home because they would just look silly at camp. Other things aren’t appropriate for the atmosphere at camp either.

a.     We’re asking everyone (guys and girls) to wear t-shirts or polo shirts at camp this year. (No tank tops, or sleeveless shirts please.) We want to create an environment free of distractions from Jesus who will be our focus. Please pack enough t-shirts for the week and leave sleeveless shirts at home.

b.     You can also leave two-piece bathing suits at home; you won’t need these either. (They’re not appropriate for camp.)

c.      Anything that will serve as a distraction from our focus on Jesus and our campers during the week including your cell-phone if you can’t manage the responsibility of leaving it turned OFF.

•   While packing is important preparation for camp, spiritual preparation is even more important. Please use this final week to PRAY and READ God’s Word. Please ask God to prepare your mind for the work of camp. Pray that He will use this week to bring campers to Jesus.
